Ingrid Scheel has been teaching Electrical and Computer Engineering courses with an emphasis on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the classroom since fall 2020. In her industry position before joining Oregon State University she promoted equity and belonging in the workplace and volunteered for organizations including but not limited to: ChickTech, Tech Trek, Willamette Innovator's Network, InnovationX, Redefining Women in Tech, and the Society of Women Engineers. She is the President of Optica/the Optical Society of America, Columbia Section and contributes to the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) as a conference chair, editor, and author. She has ten publicly available papers through SPIE and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and has presented at closed conferences such as the Joint Army Navy NASA Air Force (JANNAF). She is on the program committee for the Equity, Culture, and Social Justice Division of ASEE.
