Multnomah Falls Research (MFR) is dedicated to the development of fiber optic sensing systems that solve real world problems and go where other sensors cannot due to electromagnetic interference or instrumentation issues. MFR staff have extensively trained individuals and groups interested in using this technology for various applications.
MFR supports small business development in Oregon. We partner with companies to ensure fiber optic sensing systems are accessible, rugged, and reliable options for industry. We specialize in educational materials, technical books, field guides, proposal writing, small business development, and fiber Bragg grating sensing educational courses.
Outreach and advocacy for high-tech and start-ups in Oregon include programmatic and member support of the Optical Society of America, Columbia Section, Willamette Innovator's Network, SPIE International Society for Optics and Photonics, Society of Women Engineers, Redefining Women in Tech, American Society of Engineering Education.
